Other Nations
From Wiki
There are a number of nations outside of the main five, though they have much less of an influence on the continent than the ones inside it do, of course. Here is a brief description about each one; travellers certainly arrive through the continent from elsewhere.
- Bhodistan: A large, jungle-filled nation in the far East with a heavy trade in spices to the western nations, particularly Caerdicca Unitas. The Tsingani were reputedly from this nation before they were cast out and headed west (see news tsingani). The real world equivalent is India.
- Hanzu: (Also known as the land of the Ch'in) Further east even then Bhodistan, Hanzu is vastly different from any that even many of the most well traveled folk have encountered. Ranging from desert steppes to lush forests, Hanzu boasts of a culture thousands of years old, with strange and exotic advancements while at the same time steeped in barbarity. Its capital is Kaifeng. The country is currently ruled by Emperor Han LeifengThe real world equivalent is China.
- Hazaran: Originating from the north of Hanzu and south of Vrania, the nomadic, cavalry based Hazaran have swept across many lands in an invading horde. They are a brusque, violent people who've turned their eye toward Terra D'Ange and its riches. With no capital to speak of, they wander the steppes of their homeland in tribes and are ruled by their Khan. The real world equivalent is Mongolia, or more specifically, the Mongolian Empire.
- Hellas: A country east of the 'boot' of Caerdicca Unitas. The Hellenes were once a powerful nation, but subsequent conquering by the Tiberians halted their growth and shrunk their empire. These days they are somewhat influencial in technology and philosophy but little otherwise. The real world equivalent is Greece.
- Illyria: A nation stretching from Skaldi to Hellas, along the coastline. They are a nation of sailors (pirates) and master horsemen. The capitol city is called Epidauro. The real world equivalent is the Slavic coastal regions including Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, and Albania.
- Jebe-Barkal: A proud folk, capable of great generocity and curiosity. Jebeans are jealous of their pride and hold curtesy in high importance as well as bravery. They had a long history with the Habiru Nation and many of its legends spring from that. The capital is Morë. By tradition, Jabe-Barkal is always ruled by a woman, wed or not. This is rather ceremonial as the Princes which are called Ras rule provinces of Jebe-Barkal, though the role she plays is serious indeed. They practice the religion of Meneketians, untainted by the Hellene influence. The real world equivalent includes Sudan, Somalia, Etrea, and surrounding areas.
- Khebbel-im-Akkad: This Eastern nation is filled with vast deserts and oasis. Its people are called Akkadians, and they seem to be sun-worshippers. Men are polygamous in this culture. The real world equivalent is akin to the Arabian Peninsula and the Near East.
- Kriti: An island to the south of Hellas with a genuinely ancient culture. They are known as being close to the Gods. The Kritian nobility are known as the scions of Minos, a legendary king. The real world equivalent is Crete.
- Menekhet: A broad, dry desert nation to the south of the inner sea. Only the coastline has enough arable land for farming; the rest is either rough scrubland or desert. The people of Menekhet tend to dress in billowing fabric and wear hoods and veils. The capital is Iskandria, bordering the massive Nahar River. The country is currently ruled by Ptolemy Jahi. who maintains cordial relations with Terre D'AngeThe real world equivalent is Egypt.
- Vrania: Perhaps one of the largest nations in the world, it is ruled by various chieftans, and its climate ranges from forests to mountains to frozen wastelands. The real world equivalent is Russia.
