Childhood
Ofelia Juliana Shahrizai i Baptista was born Juillet the 3rd, year 1161, into a modest noble family in Aragonia. Her father had a decent estate in the province of Valencia, and would often travel to Amilcar for business matters. He owned a few ships that sailed to Terre D'Ange for business, though it was never a company to gander a large interest. From an early age Ofelia was raised a devout Yeshuite. While her father's linage was clearly D'Angeline, she grew up speaking Haibru and Aragonian alike, attending classes with her Rabe.
From then on she developed a keen intelligence. When other children were playing in the fields, she would be indoors, a book propped on her lap, learning. By her 13th birthday, she had mastered D'Angeline and Caerdicca. From then she moved to Alban, Skaldi, and onwards, mastering each with a rapid thirst. Any money she gained went to her library, gathering novels in all the languages, and learning it all with a great fervor.
Marriage
When she gained her majority at 18, Ofelia had plans to travel. However, with her father's sickness, it was not to be. At age 17 Ofelia was married off to an old Barón, who's previous wife had died in childbirth with his only heir. A year later Ofelia gave birth to her own daughter, Elena. From then her marriage was one of tolerance, but not love. She accepted it with a straight face, but, when possible, would go back to her books, dreaming of the day she could travel.
Ofelia, while she would never admit it, loves her role as a mother very much. Elena is the only light left from her marriage, and she cherishes her, teaching the girl, from a young age, many languages and how to use one's brain.
Widow
A year ago her Husband, Flavio, passed away, and by Aragonia law, left it all to his brother, and Ofelia- and Elena- were awarded nothing. Rather then moving back to her parents house, Ofelia decided to travel, with Elena in tow, to seek out her heritage; the small bit of her Shahrizai blood.
Personality
Ofelia is often seen as a cold, and cunning woman. Born to a country where women have little say, she grew up with a sly intellect, and often comes arcoss as bitter when one first encounters her.
However, Ofelia is often very accepting, though it doesn't often show in her character. She's prone to challenge one's wits before deciding weather or not to speak to them- though in truth shes pretty open to talking to anyone, if the mood strikes.
Her heritage of a Yeshuite causes her to resist, somewhat, the outlandish sensuality in D'Angeline culture- still, she accepts it, as it's within her blood, though it is a rare soul indeed who can charm her enough to cause her to accept a night with him or her.
At her core is the soft love she shows only to her daughter, Elena, the only true love she has known. It rarely shows, and the closest most see is a balanced acceptance, rather then an open affection.
Still.. every once in a while Ofelia feels the pickings of Kushiel in her veins, and then she is a different woman all together.

Trivia
- Back in the time of Phedre's legends, Ofelia's distant D'Angeline relative, Marmion Shahrizai, was banished by his family from Terre D'Ange. He took up residence in a city near Amilcar, starting a small family line in the country of Aragonia. Ofelia remains one of the last relations to Marmion; and while her blood is faint, her features clearly betel of her D'Angeline heritage.
- Ofelia still wears her wedding ring; not out of mourning, or sorrow, but to hold back curious suitors looking to court her.
