Kalyani no' Jasmine was the former Dowayne and member of Jasmine. Recently arrived back home, she seeks out to restore Jasmine to what it once was.

Background
Born on Octobre the 28th, in 1170, in the country of Terre d'Ange, Azzalle Kalyani no Jasmine was born as a typical middle-class girl. However, her family and the life that would be presented to her as it was taken away shortly after her birth. Her mother, Umniya, would flee the duchy with her daughter, heading for the City of Elua. A long trip it was, it seemed, her mother becoming weak with the power needed to at least see one member of her family safely to the city.
Falling to the doorstep of House Jasmine, one of the thirteen houses of Mont Nuit, Umniya begged with the last bit of her life with the Dowayne to take Kalyani and raise her as a Jasmine. They were wary, but they had good faith in her child-like exotic beauty to take her in. Thus, as she grew, she learned the pleasure and sensuality of the Jasmine courtesans.
At the age of ten, she was deemed appropriate to stay in and continue her life at Jasmine, so she wished- and indeed, she did. At thirteen, she went through the official religious dedication to Naamah, thus accepting her choice to become one of Courtesans of her house. Her Showing was much celebrated, as she took in the sexual rite and learned it with her heart, starting out on that long trek to learn.
She was sent to other Houses to learn as well. At Balm, she learned how a soothing touch could heighten pleasure, as with Orchis and Eglantine, to learn how to share joy and laughter, music and art, with her patrons. She took these in and made them her own, applying them to her own brand of pleasure, sensuality, and being.
Her debut was well-attended, with a cost of 135 ducs the cost of her virginity. Her winner was a sweet noble lord, and although she's never found him again, she knows he's out there. After that, her assignations began, with her marque slowly being developed over the years and time.
Kalyani had a typical courtesanhood- she took her assignations slowly and calmly, working to pay for the marque on her back. She finally got it paid off short after her tenty-ninth birthday, right before the Longest Night. The year afterwards, the Dowayne and Second both fell sick, and were relieved of their duties, the dowayne appointing Kalyani to step up at the moment to lead the house. It ended up being a permanent Dowayneship, until she got the call to go home, to her father; they finally wanted to reconcile.
Maia took the Dowayneship after that, with Aurele as her second, with Kalyani's full approval. It would be the year or so later that she would receive the message that Maia was dead, and Aurele, gone. Knowing what a great figure the House had been, Jasmine left Azzalle to go back to her home, to House Jasmine, and bring back the properity and such that it once had.
Personality
Kalyani is a very quiet woman, however, this is just a façade. She easily knows what it takes to get along with people, weather it is respect, laughter, or calmness- this makes her very likable and personable to most people. She is able to blend in graciously with both royalty, nobility, and her own middle class; when offending, she is quick to make amends.
She has her own way of doing things, and wishes to help House Jasmine regain its appeal and popularity that there was so many times ago under Maia. Although certainly ready, she is a bit unsure of herself in the running of her House. However, she looks upon everything as a learning experience, and is always seeking ways to make things work- life, love, or any way else.

Kalyani means ' Beautiful; auspicious; blessed'. It is Indian and Sanskrit in origin, with the same meaning in both languages.
Kalyani has a penchant for mixing combinations of her House with Others, creating her own touch of pleasure to bring to her assignations.
