Training
The adepts of House Eglantine are, from an early age, fostered in their artistic abilities, whatever their focus or foci may be. There are singers, painters, musicians, and other artists among their number, and all of them are given special and specific training in their chosen areas of expertise. While most will choose one chiefest above all others, several of the House specialize in more than one artistic pursuit.
Throughout their time at the House, all inhabitants tend to work on various projects, both for their own passions and for profit. Most visitors will always find it buzzing with activity of all sorts, and there tends to be no end to the music flowing from the House's salon. Such is their passion that these artists work whenever and wherever they feel inspiration.
Of course, this is applied to the intimate arts as well, and artistry extends into the bedroom -- or any other room for an intimate encounter.
History
- 1170 ~ 9 May 1180 — With Gautier nó Camille's departure, the reputation as the "Voice" to the crown was entitled to Renaud nó Eglantine for his singing ability as well as speaking for the shy courtesans. The "Voice" is not to be confused with the Royal Bard, but it is a notable reputation for within the House. Queen Eliresse had a small group of courtesans that catered to her and her entourage, some who would come and go through the palace like nobility.
- 9 May 1180 — With the Queen's death, courtesans rarely were called to the royal palace as they once were before. It was not until King Bastien assumed the throne.
- 2 Jan 1186 — A quiet play of positions, it was in the dead of night when Renaud nó Eglantine was made Dowayne of House Eglantine. Rumor has it that Renaud outperformed another "contestant" for the position but this truth mainly has been kept in whispers amongst the House.

Notable Person(s) within the House
- Japheth nó Eglantine-Vardennes is a former adept who has become a premier playwright; his play Passion of Naamah is chosen to be performed for King Ganelon.
- Favrielle nó Eglantine is a novice who had a fall just before her debut that left her scarred (some say this was not an accident). She is a clothier, and she designs Phedre's costume for her re-introduction into the Service of Naamah. Phedre ends up paying Favrielle's marque, so that she can set up as a clothier in her own right, instead of being forced to work off her marque in servitude to Eglantine House.
Departed
- Lunaire nó Eglantine, a former courtesan, decided to follow inspiration and went on a walkabout. The House shall miss the young artist and some are quite proud of his achievements. To be given to one's inspirations is not a trivial thing for House Eglantine; some have supported Lunaire's decision.
- Delphine nó Eglantine, a former courtesan, retired to managed Cirque du Serendip, based in Kusheth. She was well known for her acrobatic prowess. Renaud looks favorably upon his former pupil, quite admiring her independence, and writes to her often.
- Angelique nó Eglantine, a former courtesan, retired to join Cirque du Serendip, based in Kusheth.
- Angevin nó Eglantine, a former Dowayne, retired after (?) years.
Debuts
Debuts are a grand affair at any house, but at House Eglantine they are an extremely unique and special event in the life of any adept. Many Eglantines will, upon receiving the date of their Debut, begin planning for it in every detail, with their friends often designing costumes, building props, and composing music for the event. The emphasis is, as always, on artistry, and Eglantine Debuts are always fascinating affairs full of this.
Guests are welcomed and entertained with all manner of unique distractions, which invariably builds up their anticipation before the Debut is done. It is, in many ways, an artistic act of intimacy that has its own climax and denouement.
Announcement(s)
- Beale nó Eglantine — Whispered rumors raise suspicions that this adept's debut shall be announced shortly.
Current Events
- Jan 1186 — Smashingly though popular by "imitation", House Eglantine's theme of Dragons & Flame was well received.
- 18 Jan 1186 — A Camellia, Mandrake and Eglantine entered Cereus House. Adepts of Cereus mention a wager between those Houses' Dowaynes and Seconds. Renaud has been closed lipped about what happened but has been seen calling upon his courtesans to practice "markings".
