Description
Perhaps one of the oldest rooms of the palace, this one is a long
corridor with marble floors underfoot. Down the center runs a crimson carpet,
that anyone may traverse in perusal of the works housed within. Upon the left
wall hangs dozens of portraits, depicting past rulers of Terre d'Ange. Each
one bears a gold inscribed plaque below, boasting the name of the subject.
House Courcel dominates the spread, centuries of their royal line evolving
through portrait.
The left wall is decorated with tapestries boasting the insignia of
the current ruling house, the Morhban raven over the sea. The portraiture
there is spartan, marking the forging of a new royal line. Centered upon the
wall, whereas the other is lined with portraits from end to end, can be found
a painted depiction of the King Bastien de Morhban, with Queen Athenais's and
Prince Balcime's mounted to the side, along with one of the King's younger
sister, Princess Marie. There are already spaces set aside for the royal
children, plaques gilded and placed though portraits have yet to be painted.
