Description
The parlor is a delight of frantic activity and elegant decor. Wrought iron tables in intricate patterns, paired with similar chairs with red and green leather seats are organized throughout. Some tables seat two, some seat as many as eight. The room is brilliantly lit with an abundance of oil lamps on the walls, on posts between cozy booths, and between the huge silver-backed glass mirrors that make up the majority of the wall behind a fancy bar. In the far back corner is a spiral staircase of iron, leading up to a balcony with further filigree and a row of the colorful doors that lead to rooms-for-let.
The pleasantly sweet aromas of fine smoking materials and expensive spirits waft lazily throughout the establishment, and through the double doors leading to the kitchen come the delightful aromas of a variety of meats roasting and pastries baking. There's a warm fireplace, in the front corner, near the windows, that chases the drafty chills away. When kitschy knick-knacks die, this must be their heaven, as every available flat surface has some kind of old toy, odd sign, or commonplace item tacked to it or lain upon it. The staff is attentive and ready to serve guests, and more than willing to celebrate special occasions with a song and dance.
