City of Elua

From Wiki

Cut in half by the Aviline River, the City of Elua is the capitol of Terre D'Ange. Located within the bounds of L'Agnace province, the City of Elua was once home to House Courcel, the ruling family of Terre D'Ange. The Aviline River divides the city into two parts, the Left and Right Banks. The city proper resides primarily on the Right Bank, along with the commerce district and the noble quarters. On the Left Bank is Mont Nuit, the hill that hosts the Houses of the Night Court. Nestled at the foot of Mont Nuit is Night's Doorstep, the seedier side of town. As the center of Terre D'Ange, the City of Elua has a vast marketplace on both sides of the river.

In addition, the city boasts a temple or shrine to seven of Elua's eight companions, as well as a recently-built Cassiline monastery in which the Prefect himself lives. Life in the City is generally comfortable and easy, though many people also live in the surrounding countryside and farmland; many nobles live in sumptuous estates just beyond the city limits. The city is also an important travel destination and foreigners are common, if still a definite minority.
