Shared Page Editing Rules

These rules apply to editing of all game content (non-personal/character) pages. These pages include all News, People, Theme, World, Roleplay, and Guide base pages. Some of these pages (Like Night Court House pages) are open for editing publically so users can add content. When editing one of these pages, please abide by the following:

  • Document Changes. Document all changes made with the Summary field above the submit button on the edit page.
  • Maintain Visual Uniformity. Maintain the formatting of the pages. This is a cohesive site and the canon pages must remain uniform. This includes table elements, colors, templates being used, and required section headings.
  • Maintain Required Elements. Even player pages have required content (The infobox template and categories). These must remain on the pages.
  • Abide by Guidelines. Pages must abide by the guidelines on the Wiki Picture Guidelines page and the Manual of Style page.

Documenting Changes

Please, if you make an edit to a public page, such as a canon page or a house page, comment and explain what you have edited! I know this can be hard to remember, but it is important to try so that others working with the wiki know what it is that has been done and still needs to be done! Thanks!

This is done by typing in the Summary box above the submit button on the edit page. This explanation shows up beside the page change info on the Recent Changes page and makes it easier for users to find new content and administrators to check the changes.

Example: - moved Ralph to departed page
Example: - added Cereus quote

Canon Pages

If you are working on a canon page, first off that is awesome and we are glad to have you doing it! Canon pages include any pages on the news files that add information about the world of TdA. Players for the most part can add content to many of these pages, or create their own in order to add the the rich world of information that we work with to make play here more immersive. There are however a few requests from your wiki and game staff about how to do this.

Canon pages need to have some visual uniformity - For example, a page written on a hangout should include the place template in the upper corner, and then various categories of information on that place. While we do allow players to add as much content as they like, even extra categories if they so choose, we do like the visual layout of the page to follow the same general format. This makes the page look clean and easy to use for new players, who are many of the people who use our wiki to get started.

House Pages

Night Court Houses also need to be visually uniform- These are somewhere between a canon page and a player page. While we do let any player edit these pages, they have the same expectation for visual uniformity. Please use the templates provided to add what content you desire. Pictures and captions can be added as appropriate, these add spice and fun to our pages. But we like to have certain parts of the pages standard for each page so that they can be easily navigated and understood.

Player Pages/Character Pages

Character pages and player pages are more freeform- These pages belong to the players. We ask only that each of these pages has an infobox template used in the top corner as far as uniformity goes. Beyond that, characters are free to add whatever categories and pictures that they like. There are a variety of different formats currently popular within the game, and we find each interesting and enjoyable to use.

Please feel free if you have any questions to ask the staff working with wiki, which includes Cherubim, Gabrielle, Maion, and Evangeline. We love how dedicated everyone has become to this project, and welcome working with players on new ideas and suggestions for improvement!

Crediting Work

Please remember to give credit to work that you are adapting from other sources, especially quotes from the books and images. These are most often shared on canon pages, but sometimes added to player pages as well. Credit is especially important for images that are original artwork.

Test Pages

We are always looking for expanding the theme and getting our stories squared away, so we welcome contributions to the wiki. In fact, we actively solicit them. In fact, Raziel says he will even give a reward TBD to whoever adds relevant information, fixes or builds a good page. So. Get your own test page Today!

Say you are bored, feel creative. Say there is a particular subject you are good with, but you don't want(or can't) edit the page itself. Or even have an idea for a great page or theme or plot but aren't sure if it will work out with other people or staff. Let one of the wiki people know, and we'll open a Test Page for you. We'll even let you create your own if you know how to, and get to work. As an example, see Raziel's Test Page, it's always under construction.

Say you are Even More Bored. Check other people's Test Pages and use the Talk tab to leave comments and suggestions. In the end.. Have Fun!

Oh yes, don't be greedy and tackle just one project at a time, tyvm.
