Anton grew up the eldest son of the Baron Gaspard LeFebvre of Audierne, a prosperous holding on the coastlands of Kusheth just south of Point d'Oueste. His mother was Abélie Shahrizai, a daughter of one of the less powerful branches of that well known family, but still a wise match for his father, who benefited from the merging of old blood with wealth and title.

Anton himself shared his childhood with all of the cream of the Kusheline nobility, playing as a child with the children of Shahrizai and de Morhban, knowing that when he came to manhood he would take his place as one of the rulers of the duchy, and that until such a time he would enjoy himself as young men do - sailing, hunting, women, wine, and all those other manly pursuits.
