History

Angelus and his younger sister Amélie where the children of a minor lord in L'Agnace. The family, who has remained nameless for years, was wealthy from dabbling in jewels and jewelry. When Angelus was just barely fifteen, a robbery occurred which left he and Amélie the sole survivors of that line.

That is when the Marquis, Julian de Avallon came into their lives. The Marquis had the children found immediately, and justified the wrongs of the men who slew their parents. He became attached to the pair, and having no family of his own, adopted them both. The next years passed by in happiness. Both children grew to love Julian, and in return he adored them. To the point he named young Angelus his heir. Of the siblings, there was a bond even stronger than the family the Marquis had provided.

For the short time Angelus remained in L'Agnace, it was as it had always been. The Children were near inseparable. Angelus longed to explore the world, and to visit Caerdicca Unitas, and to attend the Tiberium university. Yet he would not leave until his little sister gave him her blessing to do so.

While away, Angelus traveled Caerdicca Unitas every chance he had and even spent time in La Serenissima, among the little Court. Amélie seemed always on his mind. As a distraction, he began dabbling in Herbalisim, the Occult and even Alchemy. All these things he found fascinating and more importantly, time consuming. Years past swiftly, and soon the young man could claim himself an expert in many things.
Then came the letter that would change his life. His beloved benefactor, his adopted father, Marquis, Julian de Avallon had died. Amélie was the author, and her words brought the noble back across the sea to Terre d'Ange. The late Marquis de Avallon had been in talks with his Royal Majesty Bastien de Morhban, very near to forming a Duchy in L'Agnace. Angelus had sworn an oath to carry on the family name, and so it began there.

Personality

Angelus is meticulous and thorough, with an exceptional ability to notice and remember details and facts with extreme accuracy. Most attribute this to his highly methodical and logical personality. His word is his bond and he is often described as serious, focused or cold. He is characteristically quiet and known to remain calm under pressure. Typically, he communicates in a style that is clear, direct, and businesslike. He is said to highly value common sense and knowledge from first-hand experience. He accepts political authority in stride, especially if his political motives and actions coincide with his sense of morality and established philosophical pursuits.

Family, Acquaintances, & Enemies

Family

Julian de Avallon, Adoptive Father (Deceased) - The former Marquis, Julian de Avallon saved Angelus and his sister. He gave them a family and a home. He was a doting father figure and beloved by both. His tragic death in a Manor fire, nearly broke both siblings with grief. He was best known for his tireless politicking to make L'Aganace a Duchy.

Amélie de Avallon, Sister - Amélie is the guiding light in Angelus' life. She is his sibling after all. The bond they share is something deeply ingrained within them since they were very young. When Angelus escaped the tragedy that took his mother and father, its was Amélie that he chose to save.

Allies

Phillipe de Molay, Comte - Phillipe de Molay and Angelus met in Tiberium at the university. They studied philosophy under the same professor, and between themselves unraveled the mysterious of the world. Or so they thought. Angelus has always found Phillipe a stimulating conversationalist, however he was never keen on the Comte' choice in Courtesans.

Nobles

Prisca Belfours, Baronne - Prisca, or the 'Peacock' as Angelus came to know her in La Serenissima, is an acquaintance. Young men, no matter how reserved, can get lost in the goings on of that city. It was passing wise the lovely Baronne made sure the Marquis de Avallon' adopted son, never had want for not in her company.

Anne Shahrizai, Marquise - Angelus met the Marquise by chance in the Marketplace upon his return to Elua. He found her witty, and not without charm. Still, he knows very little of the Kusheline woman. Learning more, if he so desired, might prove interesting. Might.

Foulque d'Andronic, Viscomte - Angelus met the Viscomte through Prisca. The Baronne was happy to dote over her husband as the three had a quite dinner not long after the de Avallon lords return to Elua. His opinion of the man is to date, still his alone to know.

Courtesans

Lilias, Courtesan - Lilias nó Valerian is a lovely and intelligent young woman from what Angelus has determined thus far. They met at the Palace, the morning after a recent assignation she had with some nobleman or woman. He, having been a Patron of House Valerian in the past, will likely be again if Lilias is any indication of their current servants.

The Alchemist’s Prayer

"Oh, most singular and unspeakable Presence, first and last in the Universe, brighten the fury of my fire and burn away the doors of my being. Cleanse my soiled soul; bathe me in your awesome light. Set me free from my history and cut me loose from my boundaries. Unite me this the one thing, hidden in my life, wherein is my only strength. Fill me with your Presence, allow me to see through your singular Eye, grant me entry to your Mind, let me resonate with your Will. Make me transparent to your flame, and fashion me into a lens for your light only. Transmute me into an incorruptible Stone in your eternal service, like the golden light that surrounds you."

Quotes

A moment passed by where the slender D'Angeline simply observed his counterpart. One well manicured brow arched adding a regal air to his angelic features. "Logic is the beginning of wisdom, not the end," Angelus replies quietly to Comte de Molay.

Atrium - Tiberium University, Caerdicca Unitas

"Alchemy, theology, philosophy," Angelus replies as he adjusts his path in the direction his companion desired. She had been there before, long ago, strolling with the de Avallon lordling. Of course that was another life time, in another land. It is nostalgic though. "The snakes, the insects, all of them have a place in Alchemy. I have found the exploration of that art a worthy pursuit." He pauses, glancing down towards her with a keen and narrow gaze. "I doubt your husband would approve."
